BlazeMaster CPVC: Proven Performance for Protecting Hotels

Protecting guests and staff is a top priority for hotel facility managers, and BlazeMaster® Fire Protection Systems provides high-performance, cost-effective solutions for stopping the spread of fires. Specially engineered for fire protection, BlazeMaster CPVC is UL listed and FM approved for light hazard occupancies, which means it meets – and often exceeds – industry standards for safety for new hotels or retrofits.

While protecting people and property, BlazeMaster pipe and fittings systems are less expensive to install and less expensive to maintain compared to steel pipe. That’s because BlazeMaster CPVC offers several key advantages:

Save on Materials Costs with Superior Hydraulics. The interior surface of BlazeMaster CPVC is much smoother than that of metallic pipe. As a result, engineers and designers can specify smaller diameter pipe while ensuring the same level of water flow. That reduces material cost while ensuring the system will perform as planned in the event of a fire.

Limit Labor Costs with Fast, Efficient Installation.  Unlike steel pipe, BlazeMaster CPVC is installed using simple hand tools and a one-step solvent welding joining process. By contrast, installing steel pipe requires torches, noisy equipment and large work crews that increase labor costs. The solvent cement joining method for lightweight BlazeMaster fire sprinkler systems can be completed quickly in the field with a smaller crew, in less time and without heavy equipment and hotwork permits.

Reduce Maintenance Costs. Steel pipe is prone to corrosion and Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion (MIC) that can cause pinhole leaks that require costly, disruptive repairs. Steel pipe is also prone to scaling (mineral buildups) that can restrict water flows. BlazeMaster fire sprinkler systems naturally resist corrosion – even in salt air environments and areas with fluctuating pH balances – as well as scaling and MIC. If repairs are needed, BlazeMaster CPVC can be easily cut out and replaced minimal cost or disruption.

Limit Disruption for Occupants During Retrofits. Hotels are often host hundreds of guests and staff. That’s why the clean, quiet installation solvent-cement installation method for BlazeMaster CPVC is so important. By comparison, installing steel pipe requires torches, noisy equipment, and large work crews, which often limits working hours or requires occupants to vacate the site.

Support Sustainability Goals.  An ISO-compliant environmental study found BlazeMaster pipe and fittings outperform steel in 12 out of 13 environmental categories.

For new hotels or retrofits of existing sites, BlazeMaster CPVC offers a solution for saving money on initial costs and long-term maintenance while meeting tight deadlines, limiting tenant concerns and meeting green building goals.
