I am pleased to announce that the BlazeMaster® CPVC team is growing its capabilities with the addition Brian Courtright as National Sales Engineer and Brad Pick as Regional Manager in the Central United States. Brian and Brad will support our BlazeMaster customers in their roles on Lubrizol’s TempRite® team that oversees all of the company’s CPVC brands, including BlazeMaster, FlowGuard® Gold, freezemaster® and Corzan® pipe and fittings.

Brian Courtright

Brian is excited about joining us in a role that brings together his strong mix of academic and real-world credentials. In addition to his chemical engineering background, he brings us relevant experience in plumbing and HVAC systems that includes writing specifications for residential and commercial fire protection systems. He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Economics from Penn State. He is currently pursuing his MBA, also from Penn State.

He joins our team with seven years of experience as an engineer and sales engineer. Brian most recently served as technical manager for Viega, a global leader providing plumbing and piping solutions. In that role, he drove specification sales and developed training content on best practices for the technical manager team.

He’s excited to work with design engineers and customers as a technical resource, helping write specifications and design best practices. He’s looking forward to meeting with customers and engineers to talk about the advantages and opportunities of using BlazeMaster CPVC to save lives and protect property. He especially enjoys helping new potential customers get over any discomfort with trying new products, so he makes himself available throughout the process.

Beyond BlazeMaster CPVC, Brian will support application development for all TempRite business segments, including plumbing, HVAC and industrial across North America and will have some global responsibilities as well. He also serves as the engineering lead for our team at national associations and shares his expertise as an industry thought leader. He will maintain a pulse on current market trends to help us identify next-generation technology to better serve our customers.

Brian is originally from Scranton, Pennsylvania – the Electric City – and he still has family in the area. He is confident the resiliency and work ethic Scranton is known for will help him succeed in his new role.

Brad Pick

Based in the Dallas area, Brad is leading a regionally distributed sales team that includes commercial and residential fire protection, plumbing and HVAC specialists. He and his team will be working to educate designers and installers in the Central United States about the benefits of using BlazeMaster CPVC.

Brad brings to our team nearly 20 years of experience as a sales leader in a unique blend of distribution, manufacturing and engineering firms domestically and globally. He’s passionate about fire protection, and its role in saving lives and limiting property damage. Brad said he’s thrilled to be at Lubrizol, given the company’s role in pioneering the use of CPVC and our commitment to ongoing innovation.

He offers extensive experience working with diverse audiences in the fire protection industry, including business owners, contractors, installers, engineers, Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) and design consultants. Brad was most recently the area sales manager for Harrington in North Texas/ Oklahoma, where he led an aggressive business development and sales growth strategy. Brad held international sales positions at Vulcan IG and NIBCO, a Lubrizol manufacturing partner. He also brings experience in the wholesale distribution side of the fire protection industry through his work with Ferguson and Hughes Supply.

Brad sees COVID-19 as an opportunity, given supply chain disruptions that put BlazeMaster, Lubrizol and our global partners in a good position against competitors. He also notes that industry awareness about the drawbacks of steel piping, such as scaling and corrosion, continues to gain traction. That’s making customers more receptive to our strengths in return on investment, low long-term system maintenance costs, and other benefits of using CPVC rather than steel.

Brad is originally from North Olmsted, Ohio, in the greater Cleveland area and graduated from Cleveland State University with a B.B.A. in Business Administration. He also completed academic and leadership training at the Culver Academies.

Our BlazeMaster team is excited about working with Brian and Brad as we move forward to serve our customers and our industry.
