BlazeMaster's Preparation for new Legislation

This year, we have an opportunity to significantly widen the reach of superior fire safety to residents nationwide. Major new legislation is coming into effect. However, as some professionals in the building industry have raised concerns regarding how it will work, questions remain unanswered. It’s time for fire safety professionals to prepare for what’s to come.

BlazeMaster fire protection systems are prepared to rise to the demand that’s about to impact the UK in a major way. Strong, resilient and efficient fire sprinkler systems are what we do, but first; a look at what’s coming.

New UK Fire Safety Legislation

From 26th November, all new high-rise blocks over 11 metres tall will be legally required to fit fire sprinkler systems throughout. The limit has been decreased from 30 metres, which means many new buildings will be affected significantly by this news. Both building owners and fire engineering professionals need to be ready, as it is expected that this will impact approximately 1,680 buildings each year.

How To Guarantee Quality

Increase in demand means a significant increase in the number of installations that will be taking place nationwide by the end of this year. It is essential that quality is not compromised for speed of build; we must get this right, first time.

For a quality installation across every one of the 1,680 buildings per year that are affected, the Fire Engineer in charge is going to need:

  • Construction materials and tools readily available
  • An efficient, clean and safe installation process that the whole team understands
  • Products and procedures that fully comply with UK standards
  • A safe, professional and responsible environment

As part of the new rules, compliance incentives will be implemented and sanctions enforced for building owners that are not compliant. We cannot respond to this surge in demand by hastily adding systems that will not perform at their best, and last for many years.

Installing CPVC: Quality Systems, Fast

CPVC is the most specified non-metallic fire sprinkler material in the world, thanks to its strength, resistance and flexibility in building applications. It is also the reason why installers are cutting down on timescales.

Installation is a cold process, with no need for electrical or heat tools. Solvent cement welding fuses CPVC pipe and fittings at the molecular level within minutes, fusing to form a permanently sealed joint.

The fast, secure and disruption free installation of BlazeMaster CPVC will allow installers to fully fit fire sprinkler systems to buildings in significantly less time, allowing the fire industry to rise to growing demand.

Get it Right First Time

Although installation is fast, easy and simple, it is not a temporary solution to fire safety. BlazeMaster CPVC, down to it’s fundamental chemical composition, is equipped for long term resistance to heat, fire and smoke.

BlazeMaster CPVC compounds have received the fire classification Bs1d0. This is the highest classification a plastic can achieve in this field:

  • B  - Low flammability, no contribution to flashover
  • s1  - Low smoke development
  • d0  - No burning drops

BlazeMaster CPVC has achieved recognition for its efficient, clean and safe installation process, high performing materials and disruption-free professional work environments.

Prepare for November Today

We have a very welcome opportunity to implement life saving measures to residents across the UK, from November this year. Get ready for some tough timescales ahead.
