Where should you use BlazeMaster® CPVC Fire Protection Systems in India?

BlazeMaster® CPVC Fire Protection System is the most specified nonmetallic fire sprinkler system in the world for a variety of reasons - ease of fabrication and installation, durability, and faster installation.

Equally important, BlazeMaster® CPVC Fire Protection Systems are compliant to IS 16088: 2012 (Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride) CPVC Pipes for Automatic Sprinkler Fire Extinguishing System Specification. It meets the requirements for use in light hazard fixed fire sprinkler systems as per IS 15105: 2002. They also are listed by UL for use in accordance with various guidelines in NFPA standards. 1.Light Fire Hazard Occupancy

BlazeMaster® CPVC Fire Protection System is engineered to be installed in light hazard (and certain moderate hazard as per NFPA, LPCB, VDS) occupancies. Light Hazard is the facility where the potential for fire is relatively low, based on the amount and type of materials located there. In light hazard, it is assumed that fire is likely to develop at a slow pace with relatively low levels of heat.

As per IS 15105: 2002, light hazard occupancies include non-industrial occupancies where areas of rooms, corridors, halls, etc. are not more than 125 m2 and above are bounded by masonry/ or RCC walls raised up to the roof and door openings therein protected by doors. 
BlazeMaster® CPVC fire fighting system is approved in India for light hazard application in the following types of occupancies, with some restrictions:

2.Ordinary Fire Hazard installation

NFPA allows broader application for BlazeMaster® CPVC Fire Protection System as compared to the ambit of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). BlazeMaster® CPVC fire pipes are specially engineered and approved for all light hazard applications, as defined by NFPA 13/13R/13D.

NFPA also permits its usage in certain ordinary hazard installations as defined in Section 6.3.9.6 of NFPA 13 (2016 Edition) and 5.2.2.6 of NFPA 13R (2016 Edition). This section permits the use of pipe or tube listed for light hazard occupancies to be installed in ordinary hazard rooms of otherwise light hazard occupancies where the room does not exceed 400 ft2 (37 m2). Further, NFPA also permits usage in Air Plenums, as defined by the Installation of Air Conditioning and Ventilating Systems, NFPA 90A; and Installation of Private Fire Service Mains and their Appurtenances (NFPA 24).
