Why TempRite® Engineered Materials?

TempRite® Engineered Materials CPVC can be used as a single compound, but is also designed to have high compatibility with PVC and is easy to blend into existing PVC formulations.

It can be used in a variety of processing techniques including, but not limited to, injection and compression molding, and profile and sheet extrusion.

TempRite® Engineered Materials can also be used in adhesive formulations, where they can improve performance in various industry sectors and end-uses.

As a foam-based material, the product can be used to manufacture cores, e.g.: for Aluminium Composite Material (ACM) panels, where it offers excellent fire-resistance properties compared with traditional thermoplastics.

Its 65-69% chlorine content, compared to 55-57% for standard PVC, provides numerous material advantages:

High glass transition temperature
High heat distortion temperature
Chemical and Moisture inertness
Improved fire performance
Improved mechanical and dielectric properties
Corrosion Resistance

TempRite® Engineered Materials compounds can resist some of the harshest acids, alkalis, weather and other pollutants present in the atmosphere. CPVC is inert to all of the environmental factors that can corrode metals, including:

  • Oxygen combined with water
  • O3, or ozone
  • Salt air
  • Bacteria
Heat Resistance

TempRite® compounds provide mid-range thermal performance and higher heat resistance than PVC. Therefore, they can extend high temperature performance and maintain shape and color without deformation, without adding excessive cost.

Fire and Smoke Performance

TempRite® Engineered Materials offer improved fire resistance due to reduced flame spread, smoke development resistance and lower smoke density. They can offer a cost-effective solution for fire performance, often reducing dependency on additional, costly additives. Our products are not only able to resist fire, but they are actually self-extinguishing under normal atmospheric condition of oxygen.

Where can TempRite® Engineered Materials be Used?

Residential applications

Fencing

TempRite®’s dimensional stability, UV resistance and weatherability is unmatched by wood and in most environments can support large fencing structures without costly repairs over many seasons.

Roof Edge / Soffit panels

TempRite®’s inherent strengths under high temperatures and loads makes it an ideal thermoplastic for panel extrusion on a mass scale, with all of the flame and smoke benefits built in.

Decking

TempRite® as a safe and versatile garden material can be extruded to sturdy, weather resistant decking boards to match the perfect look of the outdoor living space.

Roofing

TempRite® Engineered materials are self-extinguishing and resist the spread of fire. The excellent impact performance, resistance to harsh chemical environments and good weatherability result in an extremely durable roofing solution.

Siding

TempRite® can be extruded to panels for outdoor construction in a wider variety of styles and colour options than wood, maintaining traditional styles but with stronger, modern materials. Its consistent dimensional stability, even at temperatures of beyond 100℃ allows designers to expand their portfolio into darker styles to boost customer appeal.

Windows and doors

TempRite® materials with superior impact resistance and the capability of maintaining its strength outdoors in hot climates are a sustainable, effective choice for window profiles and doors, offering long lasting custom designs on the outside and an additional layer of fire safety on the inside, with its natural flame retardant properties. Its high heat distortion temperature allows it to stand up to radiant heating such as sunlight, even when made into dark colours.

Wall Panel or Partitioning Systems

Foamed or rigid wall panels or partitioning systems using TempRite® Engineered Materials prolong durability and lifespan, with optimum fire safety characteristics throughout.

Rain Gutters

TempRite® products are inert to corrosive effects of water and its high heat resistance allows it to stand up to radiant heating such as sunlight even when darker colours are adopted for a specific aesthetic.

Window Shades and Blinds

TempRite® resins and compounds are an effective choice for window shades and blinds, offering long lasting custom designs and an additional layer of fire safety.

Flooring

Innovations in flooring technology have seen a great increase in incorporating TempRite® resins as an additive to help improved mechanical properties and fire ratings. Thermal Properties of TempRite® CPVC allows for flooring to extend its service life.

Industrial Applications

Custom Injection Molding materials

TempRite® Custom Injection Molding Materials are suitable for processing on conventional injection moulding equipment, and recent advances in Lubrizol technology now allow for cost-effective replacement of expensive engineering resins as well as value-added substitution where conventional thermoplastics do not meet performance requirements.

Electrical applications

TempRite® Engineered Materials are formulated in compounds with an UL-recognized relative thermal index rating of 105°C with impact and offer an UL 94 5VA performance rating with impact for applications requiring low flame spread. They are easy to process, offer good insulation properties and add an additional layer of safety, to adhere to even the most stringent standards in electrical engineering.
