BlazeMaster® CPVC Pipes are listed under IS 16088: 2012 (as manufactured by Ashirvad Pipes) for use in wet piping system in accordance to IS 15105: 2002.

  • IS 16088:2012 gives the specification for CPVC Pipes for Automatic Sprinkler Fire Extinguishing System.
  • IS15105:2002 gives the code of practice for Design & Installation of Fixed Automatic Sprinkler Fire Extinguishing Systems.

Non-industrial occupancies where the areas of rooms, corridors, halls, etc, is not more than 125 sq.m are bounded by masonry/ or RCC walls raised up to the roof and door openings therein protected by doors.

Ordinary Hazard Exception

This can be found in NFPA 13 6.3.7.8.2

  • Pipe or tube Listed for light hazard occupancies shall be permitted to be installed in ordinary hazard rooms of otherwise light hazard occupancies where the room does not exceed 400 ft² (37m²).
  • Pipe does not have to be concealed, but it must be installed in accordance with the listing.
  • There are not any restrictions as long as you follow the installation instructions and the room does not exceed 400 ft² (37m²).

ASTM

ASTM International, known until 2001 as the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), is an international standards organization that develops and publishes voluntary consensus technical standards for a wide range of materials, products, systems, and services.

BlazeMaster® is the first and only CPVC fire sprinkler piping material provider to meet ASTM 4120-06.

CPVC Fire Protection Pipes and Fittings

  • Pipe produced in SDR 13.5 dimensions
    • SDR (Standard Dimension Ratio) = consistent pressure rating regardless of pipe size
  • Pipe manufactured per ASTM F442
    • 3/4”” through 1-1/4”” – Schedule 40 or Schedule 80 fittings are used
    • 1-1/2”” through 3”” – Schedule 80 fittings are used
  • Fittings manufactured per ASTM F437, F438, F439 or F1970

Revision to ASTM F442

  • New markings are required on pipe production as of January 1, 2014.
  • The revision to ASTM F442 was approved in April, 2013
  • The revised standard specifies two material classifications
    • CPVC 4120-05 (320 psi @ 73◦ | 80psi @180◦)
    • CPVC 4120-06 (320 psi @ 73◦ | 100psi @180◦)

BlazeMaster® CPVC fire sprinkler piping materials are FM Approved as manufactured by GF Harvel, IPEX, NIBCO, Tyco and Viking for use in exposed aboveground wet pipe fire fighting systems for Light Hazard Occupancy sprinkler systems.
