FGG/BM/CZ™ System Compatible Program Adds Metacaulk®
CLEVELAND, November 15, 2007 – Lubrizol Advanced Materials, Inc., a subsidiary of The Lubrizol Corporation (NYSE:LZ) announces that Metacaulk® Cast-In-Place Firestop Devices and Metacaulk® Pipe Collars have been added to the FGG/BM/CZ System Compatible program. Metacaulk® Cast-In-Place Firestop Devices are designed for use in poured concrete floors to form a through-penetration firestop system. This device is installed prior to the concrete being poured and the forms removed. Metacaulk® Cast-In-Place Firestop Devices provide a firestopped opening that allows for a variety of materials to pass through them such as plastic, metal and insulated pipes, as well as cable and wire bundles. Metacaulk® Pipe Collars are prefabricated for through-penetration firestop systems using PVC, CPVC, ABS, PVC foam core, ABS foam core, FRPP, PEX pipe and electrical cable. The simple locking mechanism allows for easy installation. The product is UL classified for both open and closed pipe systems and complies to the required Environmental Exposure Testing of Accelerated Aging and High Humidity as per the UL 1479 Fire Test of Through-Penetration Firestops. The FGG/BM/CZ System Compatible Program is designed to test and monitor ancillary products on an ongoing basis to ensure chemical compatibility with these three different CPVC piping systems. All designated products qualify for the program by undergoing rigorous testing, which assures the product will not fail as a result of chemical incompatibility. Because CPVC products are made with base resins having different molecular weights and varying chlorine contents and compound additives, the FGG/BM/CZ System Compatible Program can verify chemical compatibility only with the products with which they have been tested. Products in the program display the FGG/BM/CZ System Compatible mark on their label. This mark quickly assures installers that the product is chemically compatible with FlowGuard Gold®, Corzan® and BlazeMaster® CPVC products. Only manufacturers that have passed these specific chemical compatibility tests are able to place the FGG/BM/CZ compatible mark on their product labels. The FGG/BM/CZ System Compatible Program is the only known program of its kind in the industry designed to increase user confidence and help eliminate the guesswork about which products are chemically compatible. The program is in active use in the United States, Canada, Mexico, 25 European countries, the United Arab Emirates, India and China. To learn about all the chemical compatible products in the program, call (888) 234-2346 or visit www.flowguardgold.com, www.corzancpvc.com or www.blazemaster.com. FlowGuard Gold®, BlazeMaster® and Corzan® are registered trademarks of The Lubrizol Corporation. FGG/BM/CZ™ is a trademark of The Lubrizol Corporation.
